The Europe's best children hospital gets a new main hall

 

In 2016, Sant Joan de Déu Children’s Hospital in Barcelona opened its new main hall, an emblematic space, which serves as the principal entrance into the hospital and the central hub connecting the other hospital buildings.

Using a very simple code of pictograms and requiring active participation from kids, the installations interpret the functions of the human body in an informal and approachable way, creating a playful space where kids can have fun, and at the same time, initiating a conversation about how their own bodies work.
